Fundraising for legal funds for wheat pasting action

In May 2025, students from Amsterdam University College decided in their struggle for an academic boycott of the zionist entity and institutions, to do a wheat pasting action at their university. This action was part of over a year and half of student organizing at the university in solidarity with Palestine, and came down a line of institutional and judicial repression. 

Making glue out of flour and water, they went to the building at night and started putting up posters covering a variety of messages in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance and against the zionist genocide and colonisation of Palestine. After 10 minutes, 3 police vehicles arrived at the university building and immediately handcuffed and arrested 3 of the students. They were held in custody for different amounts of time, ranging from 24 to 48 hours. Each were released without any notice or information about any charges that would be pressed against them (for sticking posters on a university building). 

7 months later, in December 2025, the 3 students received a letter from the police announcing that the public prosecutor would be pressing charges, most likely resulting in a fine for the damages and cleanup costs. We are now fundraising to cover the expenses from this fine as well as legal costs attached with the appeal of these exaggerated and unjust charges. These events are in line with the repeated repressive acts by not only the Amsterdam police, but the entirety of the public judicial system that attempts to criminalize even the bare and minor attempts at standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people. If students are arrested for over 48 hours for sticking posters at their own universities, we can expect the continued push to criminalize any instance of fighting against the colonial standing and partnerships of universities and institutions in the Netherlands. Our solidarity will always be stronger than the unjust hammer of the broken justice system operating in neocolonial powers today.
