Soutenir l'initiative libanaise de protection des tortues à Mansouri

Alors qu'Israel mène un véritable écocide au Sud Liban avec la destruction d'oliviers et de terres agricoles ainsi que la contamination de terre agricoles au phosphore, protéger le vivant s'impose au Sud comme une nécessité. Après l'assassinat par par Israel de l'activiste environnemental pour la protection des tortues, Mona Khalil, en juin dernier, l'initiative libanaise pour la protection de cette espèce se poursuit au Sud-Liban. Une équipe appuyée de bénévoles intervient pour la protection des nids à Mansouri et sur d’autres lieux du littoral libanais. Les fonds récoltés serviront à l’achat et l’installation de matériel pour la protection des nids ainsi qu’à couvrir les frais d’essence.

As Israel carries out what can only be described as ecocide in southern Lebanon, through the destruction of olive trees and agricultural land, as well as the contamination of farmland with phosphorus, protecting life in the South has become an urgent necessity.

Following Israel’s killing last June of environmental activist Mona Khalil, who dedicated her work to the protection of sea turtles, the Lebanese initiative to protect this species continues in southern Lebanon. A team supported by volunteers is working to protect nests in Mansouri and at other locations along the Lebanese coast.

The funds raised will be used to purchase and install equipment to protect the nests, as well as to cover fuel costs.
